It is 6 miles (10 km) west of the center of Seguin, the county seat, 10 miles (16 km) southeast of New Braunfels, and 33 miles (53 km) northeast of downtown San Antonio. The pond area is 400 acres with a storage capacity of 5,050 acre-feet. The lake’s prominent feature is Treasure Island, a residential area reached by a connecting bridge. Most of the lake is approximately 10 feet deep, with deeper sections along the center channel.
